Al Wootton (GBR)

Al Wootton has been a key figure of the UK underground music scene since the late 2000s, retiring his previous moniker in 2019 he moved towards producing more minimal, dub influenced leftfield techno records and psychedelic percussion tracks on his own labels Trule and Amidah and on labels such as Livity Sound, Optimo Trax, Berceuse Heroique and Zam Zam Sounds. Along with renowned percussionist Valentina Magaletti, Al formed the project Holy Tongue as an outlet for their mutual love of post-punk and experimental dub music. This project has developed into a live band and has performed all over Europe. As a DJ both in clubs and his Rinse FM radio residency, Al’s selections are extremely broad, but with decades of experience in the booth he effortlessly ties these many strands together. His live performances bring a psychedelic, ritualistic, percussive slant to a sub-heavy dub sound system approach. Over the years he has performed all over the world at hundreds of renowned venues and festivals such as Fabric, Tresor, Berlin Atonal, Open Ground, Nuits Sonores, Meakusma and many more. He has collaborated with Moritz Von Oswald, Azu Tiwaline and Priori amongst others. He also performs live in the band Moin.
