All the information you need for 2024
The festival will take place at the most beautiful little farm in Numedal – the forgotten valley of Norway. It is called Søre Risteigen gård and is owned by a lovely couple, Helena and Kittil, who you will meet at the festival. You can find the exact location on google maps here. The address is Numedalsvegen 5749, 3628 Veggli.
1. Shuttle Buses
We arrange buses that will take you from Oslo Central Station to the festival area and back. This is by far the best option for all guests. It is simple, safe, cheap, and environmentally friendly. We will try to allocate more buses if they are sold out, but please buy them as early as possible to help us plan and adjust the amounts of buses needed. Find the tickets HERE.
The pick-up point in Oslo will be in the taxi parking at Oslo Central Station, just behind Thon Hotel. The exact location can be found HERE. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure so we have time to check tickets and provide you with a wristband.
Update: we can’t change your bus ticket to another time, because of the ticketing system. If you want to change bus tickets, you can try to do so on our Monument Family group on Facebook.
2. Arriving by private transport
If you are planning on arriving by car, motorcycle, or caravan, please purchase an appropriate parking ticket HERE. Every year, we are aiming to reduce our carbon emissions, and low-emission vehicles are therefore encouraged. Please also consider the option of lift-sharing with your friends and other festival-goers – you can arrange this via the MNMT Family group on Facebook. You will be assigned a parking spot.
3. Arriving by public transport
If the shuttle bus times are unsuitable for you, please consider the option of arriving by public transport. Entur is an online service that you can use to plan the journey and buy tickets from Oslo/Oslo Airport to Risteigen if coming by public transport.
These are the opening hours for entry to the festival. Please aim to arrive within these hours.
|14.00 – 22.30*
|10.00 – 16.00**
|10.00 – 16.00**
**Day pass entrance
This year you can bring your kids to the festival during these hours:
- Saturday: 12:00-16:00
- Sunday: 12:00-16:00
Remember to get a ticket here. The ticket is for parents bringing their kids for family hours on Saturday and Sunday, between 12-16.00. All kids accompanied by adults get in for free. If parents want to stay for the rest of the day, or weekend – they need to buy a regular ticket. *If you already have bought a festival ticket, you can bring your kid at these hours.
Camping with your tent is included in the ticket and there will be a dedicated camping area at the festival grounds. We encourage you to keep this space calm for those who wish to relax and bring the noise and party to the festival area. You will be assigned a spot for your tent based on a first-come, first-served principle.
If you bought a day ticket, camping is also included, but you must leave the festival area before 11 AM the day after.
Pre-setup lavvos or tents are a great option for those who can not bring so much luggage, or just want the festival experience to be a bit easier. Tickets are available here. They will be set up for you before your arrival. Go to Infodesk after the bag check, and you will get your lavvo or tent assigned.
3. Caravans/camper vans
If you are traveling and planning to sleep in your car, caravan, or camper van, you must buy the appropriate parking ticket here and park your vehicle at the designated area for such vehicles.
Please note that there is currently no access to running water or electricity from the car park so we recommend bringing your own water and power banks with you. You can also refill your water at the campsite.
- Tent (unless you’ve gone glamping). NB: All your stuff needs to fit within a 4*4 meter space, so don’t bring a giant tent. If you are more people who want to stay together, come together, and we’ll help organize it.
- Sleeping bag
- A blanket/rug to sit on
- Bathing suit and towel + bathing shoes
- Mosquito spray
- Sun protection
- Rainproof clothing
- Water bottle and a coffee cup (no glass or ceramic, we don’t want broken things in the grass!)
- Boots and comfortable shoes
- Clothes: For a summery day and a cold night (sweater/jacket)
- A flashlight
- Some snacks
- Alcoholic drinks (you can bring un-opened/sealed non-alcoholic drinks and fill your water bottle several places at the festival and also buy lots of good drinks from the bars)
- Weapons of any kind
- Drugs/illegal substances
- Glass objects (bottles, glasses etc.)
- Burners (primus, gas canisters etc.) – this is an absolute no-no! There was a fire in the camp last year and we do not want this to happen again!
- Spray paint
- Megaphones and other noisy objects
- Drones, unless explicitly approved before arrival
- Umbrellas and other pointy objects
- Sound systems/loudspeakers/ghetto blasters/loud objects
We will have clean and functional outdoor toilets (“utedass”) and water closets in several places and simple, cold showers which you can use for free. However, they are not celled so bring a bathing suit if that makes you more comfortable. There is also a river where you can swim and get clean.
We will also have hot showers and a sauna which you can use for a fee. You can buy shower vouchers in Haven. The showers are open 10:00-16:00 due to limited capacity. The hot showers also need some downtime during the day to heat water and cleaning.
SafeSpace is a supportive space for guests undergoing challenging experiences that can result from substance use or over-stimulation. We acknowledge that despite a clearly stated non-drug policy, attendees can still consume illicit substances. Some may experience adverse emotional and psychological reactions, for which harm-reduction principles of compassion, safety, and psychological first-aid are applied to reduce negative consequences and de-escalate situations. A team of health professionals and volunteers will supervise SafeSpace and offer guests a space to rest, hydrate, and catch up with electrolytes, snacks, and other supplies to help them have a more comfortable experience.
Welcoming you to a brand new space on the festival grounds: A cozy atmosphere with delightful sounds, live performances, a fireplace, and local handicrafts. A perfect spot to rest and soothe your dancing feet. Yoga in the daytime, waffles at night. Loose attire is recommended.
We love our nature
We are so thankful that we can enjoy our beautiful nature with you, so we will leave the area as we found it – or even better! Leave no garbage on the ground, not as much as one single cigarette! We will have a marked recycling station, both at the festival and camping area, and more garbage cans around the festival site.
All general waste from the festival will be sorted and recycled at our waste management supplier’s waste station.
We take care of each other
Most importantly: We treat each other like family at Monument Festival. We behave respectfully, help each other when needed, and give hugs when they are wanted. We do not take things that do not belong to us, jump the queue, or harass anyone for any reason.
Food and drinks
We will have several local vendors providing healthy and locally sourced food with vegan, vegetarian, and carnivore options.
We will not handle any cash at the festival. There will be no vouchers this year and we will use an electronic payment system to accept internationally valid debit and credit card payments.
Yoga and breathwork
Let’s start the day together. Connecting back to yourself, your mind, and your body. Wake up with smooth flows and movement accompanied by an atmosphere created by the first artist of the day. Through breathwork, we unify and enter a state of mind in the MNMT spirit that sets us up for the rest of the day.
Accessibility and special requirements
We want to give all guests an optimal festival experience. If you have any accessibility needs, need help with storing medication, or if you require to be escorted by a service animal, please let us know. Write Hallvard an email, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
You must be over the age of 21 to attend the festival unless you bring your parents during the family hours.
All approvals from local public instances, municipalities, and police are in order for our festival.
We plan to have Monument Festival 2024 on 1-4th August. We are so happy that the outlook is very positive, although we acknowledge the uncertainty many still experience. If we are forced to postpone the festival, your ticket will be valid next year. In any case, we highly recommend having cancellation rights on any form of travel due to the uncertainty of Covid-19 regulations and international crises.
You can get your ticket refunded (except for the ticket administration fee):
- If the festival is canceled
- If the festival is postponed, you can get a refund within the first 14 days after the announcement
- If the travel restrictions imposed by your country of residence or the government of Norway do not allow you to travel
We at Monument have our guest safety as a top priority, and we will at all times follow government guidelines. You can read the updated policy from the Norwegian Government here.
Covid-19 and entrance
This year, it will not be necessary to provide documentation that you have either a negative test of Covid-19 or a vaccine pass approved by the Norwegian authorities.
If anything happens during the festival that is out of our control and we are forced to stop we will try to provide earlier transport back to Oslo S. If it is safe to do so, you are allowed to stay at the festival camp until Monday and leave with the arranged transport then. We will not provide refunds after the festival has started.
Infodesk will answer all your questions and also manage accreditation and any lost and found objects. The opening hours are:

- Saturday: 09:00-20:00
