Alex has amassed a discography that explores the dreamy, more lush side of electronic music. Using field recordings, ambient soundscapes and complex, syncopated drum rhythms, Albrecht’s solo work evokes the memories of landscapes scattered along an endless journey. In his live sets, he effortlessly blends elements of jazz and techno into an improvised voyage. Renowned for evoking a deep sense of place, his performances are unique and ephemeral experiences.


He has released music to great acclaim on Japan’s Mule Musiq, California’s A Strangely Isolated Place, New York’s Scissor & Thread and his own Analogue Attic imprint. He also writes music alongside Sean La’Brooy as part of Albrecht La’Brooy, who has appeared on renowned R&S sub label – Apollo Records. Alex has been nominated for several international and local awards including “best electronic artist” and “best album” in the Victorian Music Awards. He has played locally at renowned institutions such as The National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne State Library and The Forum Theatre where he is known for playing music that responds to its immediate surroundings.


Abroad, Alex has graced the stage at Bassiani in Georgia, MAP Festival in Moscow, Public Records and Output in New York, Vent in Tokyo, OHM in Berlin, Giant Steps in London, Het Magazijn in The Hague, XX in Manila, Pickle in Miami and many more. With his label having over 20 releases internationally, his music has been reviewed and recognised by such media outlets as Resident Advisor, XLR8R, Pop Matters, Inverted Audio and Beat Magazine.
