About the project
We have made a limited edition Monument book!
“It’s something about connection” – is an art project.
We are using content from seven photographers and two poets, to give you a feeling. A feeling of what it feels like. Feels like when people from every corner of the world come together and dance to techno under open skies. On the farm. In Veggli.
Featuring high quality paper, this will be a coffee table centerpiece. A conversation starter. With 150 pages of photos, poetry and short stories, carefully curated from our previous years in the forest.
If you’re new to this, consider it a poetic sneak peak into Monument. If you’ve been to the festival before, this is your one-of-a-kind memory book.
Like the festival program, the book has a structured flow. Between night and day, movement and rest. There are no photos in the book where someone is looking at the camera. We identify as few humans as possible. Your secrets are safe with the forest…
We start the story very slow, like Thursday at the festival, with lots of nature shots and hints of what’s to come. It builds gradually towards Saturday night, peak festival, before we softly land. In between there are both sharp turns, with nighttime dancing on one page, and daytime breathwork on the next. But also slow transitions.
It ebbs and flows like this for well over half the book. Then, when we think that you’re good and ready, we present about 15 pages from Varden at night – without text. Down the rabbit hole we go. But don’t worry, we’ll hold your hand. Guiding you to safe grounds again.
Regardless of whether or not you’ve been to Monument, there’s a lot for you to take away from the book. Our goal is to spark curiosity and reflection.
We’ll present bits and pieces of what we found there, in the forest. It’s up to you to fill in the rest.
